Draw a Bird Day
Today was Draw a Bird Day. Since birds are all I've been thinking about lately I felt I couldn't miss out on this monumentous occasion! I found out about it through a really cool artist, Lisa Buckridge, whose blog I discovered recently - she posted a fantastic flamingo, and I do urge you to check it out as well as the rest of her blog!
So with twenty minutes of the day to spare, here is a woodpecker, whose rapping always puts a smile on my face, when I hear it through my bedroom window.

Hello! Your woodpecker is very sweet.... we get a tap tap tap every morning in the summer as there is a pair that live in the trees behind our house. Thank you for sharing too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! It's so nice to be able to hear woodpeckers from home!
DeleteI've only ever seen one woodpecker and it was to high up a tree to see properly, I did get buzzed by an owl once swooped off a tree and right over my head I was to busy ducking to see what species it was, Only know it was an owl because it was dark :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful illustration your art work brightens up my day :)
Thanks so much Chibi! The trees are very tall around my home, so I haven't been able to spot the woodpecker properly either. I can hear an owl too sometimes at night, but have never seen it. I've definitely never been swooped upon by it! :)
DeleteThis one delightful woodpecker image – I really like the texture and how you incorporated the text
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily! I'm really happy you like it :)
