Honk


A quick illustration to mark the start of our long weekend.  Monday is a bank holiday so Will and I are visiting his parents in Wales.  There are lots of seagulls there as they live near a beach!  This picture was inspired by a recent trip I took to a beautiful place called Winkworth Arboretum which is run by the National Trust.  Geese were honking loudly to each other across a lake and the daffodils were in full bloom.

      It's a mix of traditional and digital - I draw the linework with dipping pen and ink, scan it, then add colour and texture in Photoshop :)

    This is great! Reminds me of old school childrens book illustrations. Stuff from Golden Books and Beatrix Potter. Great stuff. Honk, honk!
