Queen Bee

I started this picture as a Monday lunchtime speedpaint at work, but decided to carry on working on it during the last few lunchtimes this week.

I've just spent some time in my back garden looking up into the night sky for sight of the Perseid meteor shower. I saw a few rather impressive shooting stars, which was great!
So, although the picture I've posted is quite sunny, my head is filled with night-scenes and comets at the moment. I think I'll do a night-time picture inspired by the Perseids soon!
