Cookery Birds

I finished my first illustrated collage of the year for my Cookery Birds project - a continuation of the idea of birds in the kitchen!  I love blue tits, and can often see them flitting around outside through my kitchen window, whilst I do the dishes or make tea.

Here are some of the initial sketches I made of the birds.  Just working out the basic design in shapes and colours.

And I took some work in progress photos of the birds as I made them out of paper, illustrating each piece seperately before sticking them together.

I just had the finished collage scanned and sent off to the printers for a proof, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks!
