365 Days of Tea no.19
I mentioned another Barbara Kingsolver book called Prodigal Summer in my blog post yesterday. There is a luna moth pictured on the front cover (one of the main characters is a moth expert!), so I drew one today, along with another art-deco style cup.
Curiously whilst I was drawing this, a short piece played on the radio about a real moth expert, who camps out at night to study the insects she loves. I learned that most moths have tongues curled up like garden hoses to sip nectar from flowers, some moths have hard pointed tongues to drink tree sap, and a few moths have no tongues at all. I'm encouraged to carry on with my moth and butterfly-cups, maybe 'til the end of this month.
I'm linking this up with Sunday Sketches.
