Her name is Maggie Pie, and her faithful companion is Shiny, and they both have a keen liking for sparkling baubles and trinkets. I haven't done a picture in this style for a while now.. maybe I should try doing some birds like this!
Anyway, now I get to tell you about a fantastic artist, Ragnar, who I discovered a couple of years ago. His use of colour and strong sense of design had a real impact on me. He has a number of story/picture books out, but Symptomatica and Vernaculis - which are collections of his commissioned and personal pieces - are two of my favourite ever books. He's an inspiration!
