Bird Food

I've just finished tidying my office for the first time in a few weeks - it was a paper and teaspoon explosion.  Now everything smells of polish and I'm ready to make a mess again.  I'm busy making three paper-cut-out pictures for an upcoming show I'm part of, so there will be lots of mess guaranteed!  This will be my first gallery showing of any kind, which is completely exciting and utterly nerve-wracking in equal measures.  There are two other artists involved, and the event is a company launch party in London.  Hence why I've taken to sporadic Facebook posts of late (instead of blogging) to show that I'm still alive - it's easy to snap a photo on my phone and post it up - easy, but lazy, given that I just recently held my first giveaway for having a hundred followers here!

The four illustrations above are also for the show, which is based around the theme of 'Food'.  I tried to think of which birds suited which food or ingredient.  I also wanted to give the Sugar Wren (who I've posted here before) her time in the spotlight, so created the others as part of a set.  Red cardinals look so confident and full of attitude, with the very best of hairdos.  Budgies just make me smile so much.  And I've never thought that robins should just be for Christmas.

  1. Welcome back!!! Bring order after summer holidays is useful and even cathartic. Your bird food are colorful and very cool! They are a beautiful series to print and hang in the kitchen.

    1. Thank you piccikka! It has been so long since I last posted, I think I definitely need another tidy up now! :) My family visited me recently and my dad whisked the Red Cardinal off back to Scotland, but the other 3 are on my kitchen walls!!
